All is Well in Birmingham and in Heaven

Little Sydney Dobbins got a brand spanking new little brother today.

At the same time, Alan and Jessica Dobbins were reminded that there really is a God in heaven and He does things that man cannot explain away.

He creates a seed in a man and an egg in a woman and joins them together to create another human being.

I really don’t know of a man that can do that.

The birth of a child is simply a miracle. And God did one at 11:36 this morning in Birmingham Alabama. And unlike many people these days, this couple will give Him credit for His work.

Alan and Jessica are very aware that God has blessed them beyond measure.

Little Will doesn’t know it yet but he has been born into an incredible family. I happen to know them well. One of these days as he grows older he will realize how blessed he is. And he will give credit to the same God his parents are giving credit to today.

Sydney and Will’s mom, Jessica, is the daughter of Jim and Lynn Whatley. Jim and I were next door neighbors growing up and lifelong friends and we ended up marrying sisters. We had three kids apiece, and as one can imagine, our two families have spent a lot of time together over the past 30 plus years.

This photo is Jessica with her brother Daniel and our oldest son David (sitting in her lap) in the bathtub.

We literally watched Jessica grow up and we watched her transition from a little girl to a beautiful woman. We also watched her fall in love with Alan and were astounded at the match made in heaven.

We all knew they were absolutely perfect for each other.

Now they have two beautiful children who are perfect for them and perfect for each other.

Yep there is a God in heaven. And He made Himself known again this morning.

By the way William Paul Dobbins was born 9lbs 2 ounces and was only 2 inches from being two feet long.

Tonight, mother, baby, sister and daddy are doing great.

All is well in Birmingham.

And all is well in heaven.

Bruce, Thank you so much for writing that. That is so special and we are going to print it out so that we can always have it. We are all doing great, are headed home from the hospital in the next couple of hours. I think Sydney is really ready for her family to be back together at home, and we can't wait to be there with her! We love you guys and can't wait for you to meet Will! Love, Jess and Alan
