Less Than Romantic

Lucy, our miniature Schnauzer, is in heat. We think. And since several of our friends are just itching to get a little dog like our Lucy, we decided to oblige them and invite a doggie friend over for a romantic weekend.

So far the weekend has been less than romantic.

Lucy is cute enough but I just don’t think Sepp is attracted to her. They spent some time together several months ago and nothing ever developed that weekend either. He has been very cordial and gentlemanly but I think Sepp just wants to be friends.

We even tried bringing them in for a romantic meal. Sepp must have made a comment about not being attracted to her or gave her a dirty look because before we knew it Lucy snapped at him.

Females can do that when their hormones are out of whack.

Kathy thinks that Sepp will be in more of a mood today but I decided not to take any chances. I figured someone needed to take charge of this situation. I’m afraid Lucy will be scarred for life from this rejection if I didn’t take charge. Before they turned in last night, I slipped one of my Viagra pills in Sepp’s food.

I also dabbed a little perfume on Lucy before we closed the door on their bedroom last night. I was thinking that the dim lights and the Lionel Richie CD playing should do the trick. After I left their room, I couldn’t help resist putting my ear up to the door to hear what was going on.

Lionel’s classic song, “Stuck on You” was playing.

How special.

This morning the two little Schnauzers were fairly quiet at breakfast. I’m wondering if anything happened last night. I’m afraid to ask.

But I’ll keep you posted if anything develops.

I hope that things worked out. I lost my beloved Jack-Russell Saturday afternoon. I had gone to Reynolds for the wedding reception of Kevin and Tracey Hartley and didn't know until Sunday morning. My dear husband thought that he was protecting me, not realizing that I would find out just before leaving for church. He had planned on telling me after church but that didn't work. She had a good life. She had been with us for almost 18 years.

This was such a great post! I am sure the Lionel Richie did the trick!
