Lookie There Honey - I've Got a Bite
I couldn’t help but think of a country song when we rode by this church in downtown Reynolds this afternoon and saw this happy couple about to leave the Baptist Church for their honeymoon. The song I thought of was “I’m Sure Gonna Miss Her” by Brad Paisley. The lyrics begin like this: “Well I love her but I love to fish.”
I’ve seen a lot of interesting things in my life but I don’t think I have never seen a bride and groom leaving the church in a pickup truck pulling a fishing boat. Some couples choose to spend their honeymoon on an exotic island. Others choose a hotel at a Florida beach resort while other couples take off for a romantic getaway to a secluded cabin in the mountains.
I have a feeling this couple was heading to the Flint River.
I am not sure how he carried her across the threshold tonight but I kinda think he got wet in the process. I’m sure there have been many wonderful words shared throughout the ages when a newly married couple consummates their marriage. Phrases like I love you, I am so glad I found you and I am the happiest woman in the world are the normal ones that come to mind.
There is a really good chance there were different words shared during this couple’s special moment tonight.
I can hear the proud groom now. “Oh, lookie there honey. I’ve got a bite.” In this case the bite might be a fish but it also might be a Flint River mosquito lighting in the wrong place.
I’m sure he loves her.
But this groom obviously also loves to fish.
