We're Gonna Make It
If you are a regular reader of this blog, you might have noticed that my youngest son Luke is quite the creative one. When he was a little boy he kept the adults entertained by impersonating baseball players. His impersonation videos have evolved to include musicians such as John Mayer and Johnny Cash. And then there are the characters he created such as Lakesha and Emotional Terry.
His most famous video is the one of his engagement. To date that video has more than 16,000 views on You Tube.
His greatest achievement is the fact that Drew Watkins said yes when he popped the question. It’s very exciting that in about nine months, Drew will become my third and last daughter in law.
Interestingly, Drew is now a co-conspirator to at least some of his productions. She definitely makes him much better.
A couple of weekends ago, Luke and Drew went to Nashville to record an album. They spent the weekend in a recording studio and actually recorded nine original songs all written primarily by Luke. My understanding is that Drew and another friend contributed a few lyrics to a couple of the songs and I’m sure proper credit will be given on their album. They have a label and the CD is in the process of being pressed and then will be available to sell.
Being the principle investor in this project, I have had the privilege of hearing the nine songs. And I have to tell you, the songs make me smile. They are light love songs and I smile because I happen to know these two are most definitely in love.
As usual, I am very impressed with their effort.
I got permission from Luke and Drew to let you have a sneak preview of one of their songs. This one is entitled, “We’re Gonna Make It.”
And they will.
The lyrics and the song are completely theirs. The slide presentation is mine. I just thought you might want to see a few pictures as you listen to the song.

Thanks for the preview. I loved it.
Good luck Luke and Drew with your music.
Great song! Great lyrics! Great message!
WOW! That was great! Where did Luke get his talent? You or Kathy? Or from Naia or Ed? They will do well. Thanks for sharing.
